Garden City is a small city located in Blue Earth County, Minnesota, United States. It has a population of approximately 255 people according to the 2010 census.
Garden City was founded in 1909 and was named for the city’s founders’ love of gardens and horticulture. The city’s history is closely tied to agriculture, with early settlers farming the rich soil of the area.
Currently, the city has a mix of residential homes, businesses, and agriculture. Residents and visitors can enjoy several parks and recreational areas such as the Garden City Park and the nearby Hiniker Pond.
Garden City is served by the Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial School District and the city is located approximately 15 miles southwest of Mankato, Minnesota.
